Sarah Palin hates polar bears and other fun facts!
John McCain gave Barack Obama an early Christmas present today by picking Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. Palin, whose first run for office in 1984 ended in defeat, is a polar bear hating, pro-life conservative Christian who's under an ethics investigation in her home state.
Palin, the first MILF to ever run for vice president, likes moose and caribou meat and runs 7 to 10 miles a day
The news caught millions of Americans by surprise who no doubt spent much of the morning on Google typing in the search phrase "sarah who?"
Palin's political experience before becoming Alaska governor was serving six years as mayor of Wasila City, Alaska, a town with a population of 6,715 and a police force of 21 officers and an annual sales tax revenue of $8,876,374. Washington spends that kind of money in about a tenth of a second.
Palin just made her first nationally televised speech in Dayton Ohio and wasted no time reaching out to disaffected Hillary supporters who may now consider voting for McCain. That is until they start reading quotes like this from the wing-nut conservatives: "They’re [conservatives] beyond ecstatic,” said Ralph Reed, the former head of the Christian Coalition. “This is a home run. She is a reformer governor who is solidly pro-life and a person of deep Christian faith. And she is really one of the bright shining new stars in the Republican firmament.”
I just don't see a lot of female Hillary supporters - who tend to be liberal-thinking AND pro-choice - voting for a ticket with a woman who's a staunch conservative.
And I can't wait until Palin, a woman with no foreign policy experience, faces Joe Biden in the first debate. Well, Alaska is very close to Russia!
What's really hilarious is listening to Republicans, many of whom have never heard of this woman until this morning, sing her praises and spinning her "executive experience." It takes real chutzpah to call the former mayor of backwater town in Alaska as someone with "executive experience." Just think of their reaction had Obama picked a running mate with comparable experience.
I just heard Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee say on MSNBC that Palin was more experienced than Biden because Biden's only experience is that he's been sitting on a Washington committee for 20 years while Palin was a mayor and a governor and a PTA president.
Over the next 67 days Americans will be asking themselves "do we want a vice president - a hearbeat a way from the president - who served as mayor in a town with one stoplight or do we want someone with decades of foreign policy experience?"
Thank you John McCain!
