It's almost our one year anniversary here at Random Pixels so what better way to celebrate than with a lawsuit.
We started this little blog last March.
At the time I wasn't sure what direction I would take.
All I knew was that I didn't want to bore people.
Well, I'm trying very hard not to bore anyone but apparently I've pissed off a few people.
The other day I made a few comments about the hypocrisy of the muy macho caballeros over at the Babalu blog.
Val Prieto, the Bomb-Thrower-in-Chief at Babalu, who apparently wouldn't know satire if it hit him in the a**, left a comment threatening to sue me for libel if I didn't edit my post.
I declined of course and this morning he left a comment on the same post: "See you in court, dude."
Val apparently doesn't realize there's no way any human being could do any more damage to his reputation than he's already done to it with the sheer stupidity and fatuousness of his blog.
But a couple of things about this development surprise me.
One, I was pretty sure that Joan Fleischman would sue me first!
Two, why is Val suing me?
Rick over at the South Florida Daily Blog has been hammering Babalu for months. I post one item about them and now I'm looking for a lawyer!
It ain't fair!
Well Val, in the immortal words of George W. Bush - a man you idolize - I say "Bring it on!"
Why don't you go out and get one of those $600 an hour Brickell Avenue lawyers and have him put in about 10 or 20 hours on this thing...and then give me a call!
By the way Val, since you left your comment it has come to my attention that in addition to "throwing bombs" you are also a "closet vegetarian" despite your alleged affinity for smoked ribs, Polish sausages and bacon-wrapped prawns.
And a very reliable source tells me that you once threw a sackful of kittens into the canal behind your house after a drunken weekend at the "Mancamp."
Are you sure you don't want to reconsider Val? This could get ugly!
Prieto oughta be worried about the number of people that are capable of suing him for the trash that he and his contributors have been slinging for years.

The guy is a thug and a buffoon. Unfortunately one of his "buddies" is a lawyer, I believe, and will probably be represented for free. Take donations for your defense, and I hope you kick his a$$ all over the court and show him that in Cuba, intimidation works, but not here in the US of A. Expose him for the fraud that he is!!
ReplyDeleteJust the idea of getting lawyers involved in a blog-o-spat makes me want to wash my hands. I'm really sorry to see it's come to this. But I second Mambi Watch's sentiments, and hope you get lots of good material out of it.
