Tim Elfrink of Miami New Times is reporting today that North Miami Beach mayor Myron Rosner has used his office to retaliate against one of his constituents who also happens to be a blogger and a frequent critic of Rosner.
Last month, North Miami Beach blogger Stephanie Kienzle ripped her town's mayor, Myron Rosner, after finding that he'd spent more than $500 on hotels in nearby Hollywood and Miami. Days later, a code compliance inspector came knocking at her front door. "I had no doubt the mayor was trying to get revenge," she says. The friction between Kienzle and Rosner got started last December when Kienzle complained to the media about Rosner plastering the town with Happy Holiday signs featuring his photo.
Kienzle says she has an email that proves it -- and it appears she's not alone. Former mayor Raymond Marin, who lost to Rosner, complained to state officials last week that Rosner had done the same thing to him as a "personal vendetta."
Rosner, a general contractor, defeated Marin to become mayor of the hamlet of 38,000 in 2009. It didn't take long for Kienzle, a legal secretary and NMB homeowner for two decades, to become a painful thorn in his side with her blog votersopinion.com
In what could be one of the all-time great TV sound bites ever, Kienzle told CBS4, "I don't want to see his ugly mug when I'm getting ready for the holidays."
You go Steph!

Thanks for blogging this story. I really appreciate it. We need to get the word out to the voting residents that Myron Rosner MUST be voted out! We can't take four more years of Chicago-style politics in North Miami Beach.
