In a push to raise more money - probably to pay the salaries and pensions for the losers at the Philadelphia Parking Authority - the city has slapped a tax on bloggers.
That's right, bloggers!
After dutifully reporting even the smallest profits on their tax filings this year, a number — though no one knows exactly what that number is — of Philadelphia bloggers were dispatched letters informing them that they owe $300 for a privilege license, plus taxes on any profits they made.One blogger, Sean Barry, has made $11 in two years with his blog, Circle of Fits. Doesn't matter; the city still wants $300 from him!
Wonder how long before the geniuses at Miami-Dade County Hall try something like this here? Ahhh, that's probably not going to happen.
They're too busy with other stuff. Right? And besides, they wouldn't eff with me; I've always been Mayor Carlos Alvarez's number one fan!
