My first car was a '59 Chevy that I bought for $600. It was a piece of crap.
But it was my fault for not checking it out completely.
Now, after all those years, I'm not feeling so bad.
Seems it can happen to the best of us.
Even to billionaires who should know better.
“I don’t think Steve or any of us knew the condition of the facility was as desperate as it was when he bought the team. He really wanted to own the Miami Dolphins, it’s his home town, and I think he kind of made the bid, bought the team and figured it out later.” - Miami Dolphins CEO Mike Dee in an interview with Jim DeFede
Next time get an engineer to inspect the stadium. Wouldn't really make a difference because all stadiums need upgrades on a 10 to 20 year cycle. Public-private joint ventures are over, they've been proven to a disaster.
ReplyDeleteAnyone find it odd for a real estate magnate and developer to not inspect the building he is purchasing?
