Subject: Newsroom Update: Building Sale

Building Sale: Last week's announcement about the sale of this building was emotional for all of us, even though intellectually, we knew the years-long effort to sell the adjacent property raised the possibility. Without diminishing our affection for this building and what it represents, the move does present a unique opportunity to design and build a newsroom that points us to the future. We'll be able to create a physical space that matches the different ways we now approach and deliver news – on the web, in print, on radio, on mobile devices – and the means to adapt in the future.

Although the move is two years away, we are already working with a renowned consultant who has helped the likes of the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal in their recent moves. They specialize in newspapers and bring a deep understanding of the work we do.

We'll hold a meeting on Wednesday, from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Knight Conference Room to discuss the preliminary details. Feel free to bring your lunch.
